Poem A Day - April

For anyone who would appreciate some inspiration, Robert Lee Brewer is providing poetry prompts; one a day for every day in April. By the end of it you could have a chapbook of poems ready to edit.
The blog address is http://blog.writersdigest.com/poeticasides/default,month,2009-04.aspx
Good Luck.

Looks interesting Carol. I have put two poems on today which are made up of lines from other sources. I shall now go and look on the site you suggest. Thanks

In reply to your question, Carol - on our writers group and how did my poem go down - alright is about the right word, I think. I am trying to get a discussion group going as at present everyone just wants to read their work out and get "faint praise"! The first discussion group is this coming week but I really don't hold out a lot of hope for it. The work that has been submitted for discussion is very varied, some of it very specialised (childrens' literature for example) and some of it, frankly, just not very good - but how do you say that kindly. And it also begs the question - if someone writes very poor stuff how can they comment on your stuff - and that begs the question - how do you know your stuff isn't poor too!! Great dilemmas. How did you fare when you were in your local writers' group - have you any tips to give us - everyone is so nice and they all love the get-together each month - but is that really the point of it all?
