Rain-rich colour of the day

It was well worth delaying today's walk until late afternoon, when we were rewarded by powder blue skies and rain-rich autumn leaves - just like freshly washed pebbles in a stream.

We climbed up to Rivington Pike (see below), then ambled back through Lever Gardens (right)

Many is the time when I have walked round the reservoirs at Rivington Carol. When my doctor friend still lived in Chorley it was one of our favourite walks. Lovely to read of it again.

Oh I love Rivington Pike, I still get to go there on occasion when I visit my parents...

That brought back long-ago memories, Carol!

You've really made me want to walk there too!

Sounds like great conditions for photography - there is a freshness in the air after rain and the vegetation shimmers. Almost like a natural makeover before a photoshoot!

I loved the sinile of rain-rich leaves and freshly-washed pebbles in a stream. Water in any form has such a wonderful effect on colour.

Well, after the next shower we'll all have to go for a walk together!
