Meet Fred

Fred lives in my shed. Very confident that I know he's not palatable, he just remains squat when I open the door.

Not much of a life being a toad (actually he looks like a frog but behaves like a toad)- just squatting there all day or reluctantly crawling off with disdain if I disturb him whilst getting some tool. On the other hand after a full-on week I'm spending my day off washing & vacuuming the car, struggling to remove a climbing rose from my berberis, changing beds, shopping, cleaning the kitchen & bathroom etc, painting a wall, watching tomorrow's ironing pile grow, lessons still to plan... Not much of a life on a sunny day off. Now what about that toad...

I saw you on Weaver's so popped over to say Hi. Good to meet another 'northerner'.

We've had two dunnocks living in a bush under our window for a couple of years now. This year they finally decided to get hitched and now we've got three dunnocks.

Thanks for the visit Carol. As Pat says - we Northerners must stick together. Your list of jobs to do over the weekend sounds very familiar. When I was teaching full time I used to spend all day Sat and Sun getting ready for the week ahead. Toads have it madem sitting in the shed. Dogs and cats too have the Life of Riley (whoever he was).

Hi Pat - Welcome.
Dunnocks in the garden- lucky you. Glad to hear they've managed to raise a chick; it's generalaly not been a good breeding year with the weather.
Hope they're still around and singing in Spring.

Hi Weaver of Grass - Welcome too. So what did you used to teach?
