It was ok a for a fun activity for a warm summer evening but it certainly wouldn't want to be homeless. Would I sleep out in the open again - yes. And it's not impossible that I'd Go-Ape as well...Mistlethrushhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16051761614198488243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3459672920456166963.post-36640782111750814032009-06-18T06:58:57.392-07:002009-06-18T06:58:57.392-07:00I can't add to Mairi's analysis, but I wou...I can't add to Mairi's analysis, but I would like to know if it was one of you Fifty Fings to do before you're Fifty:-

i.e. frolicking with fawns amongst the ferns under the full moon!

or perhaps just Go-Ape for acrophobics?

DMAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3459672920456166963.post-41829867877337726922009-06-16T23:37:49.613-07:002009-06-16T23:37:49.613-07:00lovely poem, very atmospheric.lovely poem, very atmospheric.Crafty Green Poethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02486633917197181851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3459672920456166963.post-83649977474149523132009-06-15T19:43:02.983-07:002009-06-15T19:43:02.983-07:00This is a beautiful piece. Waiting for the night to arch its back, the first word rhyme - I forget what that device is called - of peel and feel, and the whole idea of risk involved in going outside. You have no idea what might happen to your whole frame of reference by indulging in such a thing. You don't say, of course, that the 'we' of the poem have stretched out to enjoy whatever - the stars, the night sounds, the darkness or each other - it's only te piling of the bracken that lets us know.
